WORKED EXAMPLE · 30-DAY DOMESTIC BILL120 kWh consumed · tariff effective 11 May 2026

Estimated energy charge Rs. 1,860 + fixed charge Rs. 1,000 = Rs. 2,860, before other bill adjustments.

How this estimate works It uses the PUCSL domestic block tariff effective from 11 May 2026. The tariff block limits and monthly fixed charge are adjusted in proportion to the number of billing days. CEB and LECO domestic estimates use the same approved domestic schedule.

Tariffs can change. Check the PUCSL tariff schedule or use the official PUCSL bill calculator for your exact reading dates.

Estimate covers the domestic energy and fixed charges only. Your issued bill may also include taxes, arrears, adjustments, or other account charges. This calculator does not cover time-of-use, business, religious, solar export, or prepaid tariffs.

How Sri Lanka domestic electricity charges are estimated

Domestic electricity is billed in usage blocks rather than at one flat price per unit. The total units and number of billing days determine the applicable block limits, energy charges, and fixed charge.

This calculator uses the PUCSL domestic schedule effective from 11 May 2026. Tariffs can change; compare the effective date with your bill and use PUCSL's calculator for exact meter-reading dates, time-of-use tariffs, or other account types.
